After looking at the official list of approved candidates for the primaries in Chattahoochee County, I couldn't help but comment. I sometimes wonder if anyone beside the webmaster and one or two other people, even read the articles I post so if I get any comments other than the same two or three people I'll know that either everyone agrees with what I say or they're not reading what I post. Surely I will probably get negetive feedback from what I am about to say and I probably won't reply back to some, but I am not candid about what I say and believe in saying what needs to be said regardless of the toes I step on. In the years that I have lived in this county I have yet to see any change. I have seen plenty of "Good ol' boys" and "Good ol' boy Systems" that always seem to beat down any growth in this county. One of which was a sewage system that got shot down by our local Good ol' boys for fear of bigger businesses coming into the neighborhood and running Mom and Pop out of business and losing a grip on thier control of the county. As far as I'm concerned all the "Incumbants" need to be voted out, because since they have been in office they have not succeeded or tried to succeed in changing anything. Half of the Incumbants I would go so far as to call crooks.

One of the most disappointing things on the list I suppose is that no one is running this time against Sheriff Cooper. With a history of questionable actions and 45+ misdemeanors he has had charged against him, I even wonder how and why he is allowed to stay Sheriff. Since I have lived in this county I've not seen much out of the Sheriff's department to impress me. I've seen more turning a blind eye to crime and disruption of the peace than I have seen to doing something about it. I see deputies hanging around at the Why Not and Harrassing travelers out on the 4 lane than I have seen them trying to do something about the drug problem in the county or controlling those who disturb the peace.

As far as the school board is concerned, I wish they all had people running against these incumbants too, needless to say the people that are even running against a few of them are just about as worthless as the ones already on the board. For years the Chattahoochee County School System has been plagued with Board Members and Administrators who are too affraid of parents. The school board has put administrators in place who only know how to treat people as sub-human, only care about thier own affairs and beat down those who are worthy of being recognized who go beyond what is expected of them. They and the administrators they have appointed have run off good people...Teachers, Parapros and even Bus Drivers. Then they wonder why they can't hire any teachers, parapros, bus drivers and even maintenance people. We need to elect people for the school board who will not be partial to thier "buddies" in the community, who are not affraid to say no to parents and who will defend the teachers and not the evil little brats who know they can get away with harrassing these hard working professionals because the administrators are afraid of thier parents. I have not seen any good changes in the school board so lets at least vote out the ones that are in there already.

Last but not least the judges we have in place need to go to and take thier rude obnoxious secretaries and clerks with them. After all the dispicable things I have seen judges do not only in Chattahoochee county, but Muscogee county and even in Lee County, Alabama(which is another state altogether) I don't have much faith or respect in our judicial system left. The only thing I have seen in most of these judges is an arrogant above the law attitude. Kind of makes me think of Sylvester Stallone in Judge Dredd..."I NEVER BROKE THE LAW!!...I AM THE LAW!!!". What really makes me sick to my stomach is that they always seem to side with the law enforcement officers whether they are right or wrong. And before you even think about it...no I have never been in trouble with the law so don't ask. I feel that these "Incumbants" need to go too, so vote them out as well.

I am not a candidate on the ballot. I don't work for or endorse anyone being elected or who is on the ballot. I do not consider myself a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or any other party that you may bring to mind and I feel that our Goverment and Political Parties have all failed us and this once great nation of ours. Thomas Jefferson said it is our right to abolish our goverment if it no longer serves the people. The time has now come that it NO LONGER serves the people, but now serves certain interest groups, money and big business. It is no longer for the people, by the people or of the people. Some do not agree with this view even though we were served this right to abolish by our forefathers and they put it in writing. Maybe YOU don't agree with abolishing the government and starting over, but we can ALL get rid of greed, self servedness and corruption by excercising our given right to vote. By voting out these incumbants, speaking out and putting in people who will make a change, we send a message to all who serve the love of money, corruption and greed, that we will not tolerate it any more. It is time we start standing up and standing together. We can change things, but it takes an effort and an effort by all who care. Please take time to see who the incumbants are and vote for "the other guy". He might not be who you want. He might not even be someone you like, but if we all stand together we can make a change iin this county and I'm ready for it...by now I'm sure you smell something. If you don't recognize it, what you smell are the winds of change. It's coming...it's coming.
